The mineral exploration and mining industry in western Canada is booming and there is a new level of Safety Management System awareness through all phases of the industry.

ASM is actively building systems and conducting training events for new and existing companies. In most cases, we are helping these companies get ready for the inevitable - corporate safety certification.

There are many different aspects to the oil and gas industry. Coming originally from Edmonton, we have had exposure to many of them.

For ASM, our Safety Management System experience started in the reforestation industry. We owned a sizable company that did work throughout BC and Alberta. We specialized in helicopter work and remote bush camps. We also achieved safety certification over 10 years ago.

Since our days in the bush running crews, ASM has worked with over 1/3 of the companies in this industry (by workforce volume).

When corporate safety certification became a pre-requisite for wildfire contracts in Alberta, ASM was ready. We served over 80% of the companies by building programs, conducting training events, and walking companies through the safety certification process.

Everybody passed their certification audit on their first attempt.

ASM has worked with numerous logging and log hauling companies throughout BC and Alberta. We routinely build or upgrade Safety Management Systems to help companies obtain safety certification through the AFPA, BC Forest Safety Council, and other Certifying Partners.

In addition to working with "the people in the field", we also work with Woodlands Departments for companies such as Tolko and Interfor.

Big companies such as Interfor, Tolko, Canfor, and Louisiana Pacific come to ASM for program building, training events, coaching, and software support. These companies with big multiple sites are especially challenging and enjoyable to work for.
